The holiday of Shavuot in the spring is the third of the three “Pilgrimmage Festivals.” The other two are Sukkot and Passover. Spiritually, this is the day that the Torah was revealed to the Jewish people generations ago. The Torah contains the Five Books of Moses, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. It is the story of our people’s history and it is the guide for living an ethical and meaningful life. A rabbi named Ben Bag Bag thousands of years ago said, “Turn it and turn it, for everything is in it.”
Shavuot services are held in the sanctuary when Yizkor is recited.
