Shirley Offman, Assistant Principal - Religious School

Shirley Offman has been on staff at Temple Beth David for the past seventeen years. She has held her current position as Assistant Principal of the Religious School since 2006. Previously, Ms. Offman taught several grades in our Hebrew school and she was an instructional assistant in our ECLC program for ten years.  During that time, she designed and taught an educational enrichment program for our four year old students.

She is dedicated to enhancing the Jewish educational experience for students and their families alike. In this pursuit, she has further developed the PACE family educational enrichment program by expanding it beyond fourth and fifth grades, to create a sixth grade family program and has been its facilitator for seven years. She has also developed and led holiday related family programs designed to build community.  Her passion for Israel is reflected in the many ways she has enhanced the Israel educational experience for our students.

Ms.Offman has been a resident of Commack for twenty-seven years along with her husband and two sons. She has been active in the Commack schools' PTA and served on the Commack North Little League Board of Directors. Before joining the TBD staff, she worked for fourteen years in the private sector as a Human Resource specialist.

Ms.Offman holds a B.A. degree in Humanities from Brooklyn College. She is also a graduate of Principal Leadership Institute's 2 year Certification Program under the auspices of The Jewish Education Project (formerly SAJES) and Touro College.
